Farm
- A view from the fields looking at Oberachenhof, with the Wilder Kaiser mountain range behind. Also one of many large stacks of woood that is naturally drying for heating the farm.
- One of our recently re-decorated rooms. This is room number three with balcony area and views towards Kitzbueherhorn and the Wilder Kaiser mountain range
- Breakfast at the farm. Bread delivered daily from the bakery, homemade jams and local meats and cheeses from the area.
- A tree that we felled was too good to burn, with this interesting knot in the middle of the tree. We fell all our trees at the farm. Mainly for heating but also a little tradional art.
- Organic diary cows, Our herds is between 18-25 cows for milking and our total herds is between 40-50 cows, heffers and calves. The children love to see the young calves and there are usually at least a couple always at the farm.
Summer
- Pillersee, only 30 minutes away is a beautiful location with clear running water. A lovely little village and plenty of places to grab an ice-cream on a hot day. Typically tyrol!
- Kreuzjöchlsee in the heart of the SkiWelt. On the Westendorf side, with beuatiful walking and cycling paths and many mountain huts to stop at to enjoy a cold beer and tradtional food.
- Güttenhütte offers a spectacular back down into Ellmau and across the SkiWelt. Again, more walking paths that you could every walk around and a rather friendly horse!
- Paragliding, not for the feint hearted. Courses and tandem rides are available from Brandstadl, Scheffau and other neighbouring villages.
- If you have children with you, then Hochsöll is a must. Hexenwasser is fun of the children for the whole day with paddling pools, activities and witches glory.
- Young or old there is plenty to do and visit. Just sitting at 1600m on a warm summers day can provide a very special moment.
- For the more adventurous, climbing to the tops of the Wilder Kaiser peaks can be a rewarding and challenging experience, this is a view back down towards Hintersteinersee and the Inn valley.
- Stay for more than two weeks and you never know, you might end up looking like these gentlemen.
- Traditional dancing and music can be heard in the vallies and on the mountain tops throughout the summer season. Here a young farmers group are celebrating the wedding of one of their group.
- Ah yes, whilst guests are relaxing. There is plenty of work that we need to do to make the hay to feed the cows throughout the cold winter season.
- If you rise early enough for your hike then these wild goats can be spotted on the mountains high up in the Wilder Kaiser mountain range.
- Festivals are plentiful in the villages. I confess I can't remember what this one was for.
