1. Special skis with a different binding and a synthetic skin are used to 'walk' up the mountains. The sport of ski touring has grown over the last few years. Personally heading out into the wilderness is prefered to ascents on the edge of the piste. The fresh powder is my goal, as well as the solitude and sheer beauty of the mountains.
2. A steep dangerous traverse then descent on the Wilder Kaiser mountain range. Roughly three hours of climbing followed by an adrenaline packed descent. A memory that will hopefully never be forgotten.
3. It isn't only the skiers that enjoy the freedom of touring. More and more snowboarders are wearing snow shoes to ascend the mountains then unclipping their snowboards from the rucksacks and enjoy the long uninterupted poweder descents back into the valley.
